Honda Pilot Engine

The 2020 Honda Pilot features a smooth, capable drive with a 3.5L V6 engine. It gets up to 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. Front-wheel drive comes standard, but an Intelligent Variable Torque Management™ (i-VTM4™) All-Wheel Drive System is available on every trim level.

With front-wheel drive, you’ll be able to use that power to tow up to 3,500 pounds. Not only does the all-wheel drive system provide you with advanced traction and stability control, but it also bumps your towing capacity up to 5,000 pounds. With that kind of capability, you’ll be able to hitch a camper, boat, or a couple recreational vehicles to your SUV.

The Honda Pilot also offers the kind of fuel economy that’ll come in handy when you’re running errands or taking a family road trip. With an EPA-estimated 19 MPG city and 27 MPG highway rating on the LX and EX trims, you’ll end up making fewer stops for gas.[i]

Honda Pilot Safety Features

Honda Pilot Safety

While the Honda Pilot is capable of carrying lots of cargo, it’s also designed to keep your most precious cargo safe–your passengers. It’s built with an Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) Body Structure. This frame can absorb energy during an accident and direct it away from the interior.

You’ll also have peace of mind knowing that you’re protected by six airbags. The Pilot keeps the front safe with a pair of front and SmartVent® front side airbags. To cover the rest of the cabin, it also includes Side Curtain Airbags.

There are also lots of driver-assistance features that can help prevent accidents. For example, the standard Multi-Angle Rearview Camera gives you a better look at what’s behind you when you’re backing up. The Honda Sensing® system also comes standard to give you more awareness during your drive. It looks out for nearly every angle of your SUV with advanced technology, such as:

  • Collision Mitigation Braking System™
  • Road Departure Mitigation System
  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Lane Keeping Assist
  • Forward Collision Warning

On top of Honda Sensing®, you’ll be able to add even more safety features, like a Blind Spot Information System with Cross Traffic Monitor.

The Honda Pilot also makes it easy to enjoy your favorite playlists and stay connected while you drive. It comes with Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink®, so you can stream music and make hands-free calls. An SMS Text Message Function is also available, along with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™.

You can sync your phone to an available touchscreen in the dashboard. It’s also the home of the Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System™. It can show you detailed maps and take you on the fastest route with turn-by-turn directions. Plus, with voice recognition, you can put an address in without taking your eyes off the road.

To make sure your passengers enjoy the ride, you can add an Advance Rear Entertainment System. This system includes a pair of 10.2-inch monitors on the back of the front headrests. They’re compatible with streaming service and a Blu-ray™ player. During your drive, you can get your passengers’ attention, too, with the Cabin Talk® In-Car PA System.
