However, searching for the right truck can be difficult, as there are so many available models on the streets of Slidell, Picayune, and St. Tammany Parish.
To help you through your research phase, Honda of Slidell has created this Honda Ridgeline vs. Toyota Tacoma comparison. To see how these trucks stack up against each other, keep on reading below and contact us with any questions that pop up.
Honda Ridgeline vs Toyota Tacoma – Performance & Fuel Economy
To give you the most power while hitting the streets, some serious components are found under the hood of each of these trucks.
The Ridgeline is equipped with the 3.5-liter V6 engine that generates an impressive 280 horsepower. This also comes with an Eco Assist„¢ System, Hill-Start Assist, and a high-capacity radiator with two powered fans.
Although similar, the 3.5-liter V6 engine found in the Tacoma offers slightly less power. It supplies 278 horsepower and does not come with an eco-assist system (as it is only found in Honda models) or a high-capacity radiator.
Because of this, the Honda Ridgeline receives a better fuel economy, coming in at 19 city/26 highway MPG,* while the Toyota Tacoma only gets 18 city/22 highway MPG.
Ridgeline vs Tacoma – Interior & Exterior Space
With the ability to seat five passengers, the Honda and Toyota can hold their own. However, there are some notable differences when it comes to size.
The Tacoma offers a passenger volume of 100.1 cubic feet, allowing all five individuals to have plenty of room. On the other hand, the Ridgeline is more spacious inside, with a passenger volume of 109.7 cubic feet.
Additionally, the truck bed in the Honda is bigger. While the Toyota still offers a lot of space with a bed of 60.5 inches in length and 41.5 inches in width, the Honda’s 33.9 cubic feet of truck measures in at 64 inches in length with a width of 51 inches. This bed also has its own trunk, providing an extra 7.3 cubic feet of area to play with.
Ridgeline vs Tacoma – Technology
Staying connected is important on the road. However, keeping entertained on any trip can make the trek so much more enjoyable. This is why both trucks come with a suite of innovative tech that does just that.
The Tacoma comes with available features that include USB ports for hooking up your device for charging, an Entune„¢ audio system with a 7-inch touchscreen, and a multi-information display that gives you vital information on your dashboard.
The Honda, too, comes with a premium sound system, a multi-information display, and USB ports, but also adds available high-tech advancements to its truck that are not found in the Toyota. They include:
- Apply CarPlay„¢ & Android Auto„¢ Support & Connectivity
- Truck Bed Outlet for Tools or a TV
- Truck Bed Audio System for Outside Listening
