2021 Honda Civic Trim Levels

The 2020 Honda Civic is a compact car with big performance, as well as a long list of impressive features. If this vehicle interests you, you’ll want to decide on the right trim for your lifestyle.
There are five to choose from, with each one providing its own set of amenities and technologies. We’ll cover them all in this guide to the Honda Civic trim levels.

Honda Civic LX

Starting off the 2020 Civic lineup is the LX. This trim shows right off the bat how safe this vehicle can be, with its standard Honda Sensing® suite of driver-assisting technologies.
These features can warn you of impending collisions and can even step in to take action. Between the Lane Departure Warning and Collision Mitigation Braking System™ alone, you can feel good knowing the Civic has your back.
Additionally, this trim has a dependable performance with a nice mix of power and efficiency. It comes with a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that produces 158 horsepower and 138 lb-ft of torque. When paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), you’ll have an EPA-estimated 30 city/38 highway MPG, which is the same as the Touring trim.1
Then there are the features inside the cabin. Bluetooth® technology lets you stream audio or make phone calls while maintaining focus on the road ahead. Plus, with a 5-inch screen and 4-speaker sound system, you’ll be able to see and hear all your media options nice and clearly.
Honda Civic Sport
The 2020 Honda Civic Sport offers the same engine as the LX trim. However, it’s now mated to either a CVT or 6-speed manual transmission. This is the only trim with those options and the only one that achieves an EPA-estimated 29 city/37 highway MPG.*
Like the base trim, the Sport provides plenty of room for five people with 42.3 inches of front legroom and 37.4 inches of rear legroom. There’s also 15.1 cubic feet of cargo room—more than enough for grocery bags, luggage, and other personal belongings.
One big change in this trim is the inclusion of an automatic climate control system. When you get the cabin temperature just right, you can now take advantage of a 7-inch touchscreen for Apple CarPlay® or Android Auto™ smartphone integration. Plug your phone into the car’s USB port and access your favorite mobile apps right on that high-resolution infotainment screen.
Honda Civic EX

The mid-level EX trim starts to shake things up a bit with its offerings. For starters, you now have a 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that delivers 174 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque—this is the engine you’ll find in the rest of the Civic lineup.
Inside the cabin, you’ll find a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob. Plus, you can get extra comfy behind the wheel, thanks to an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat. Your co-pilot will also appreciate the dual-zone automatic climate control system, as the two of you can now select your preferred cabin temperature.
This trim also adds HD Radio™ and SiriusXM® Radio into the mix. Not only will your AM/FM stations come in super clear, but you’ll have hundreds of news, sports, and commercial-free music stations to enjoy on your way to work, the store, or vacation.
Honda Civic EX-L
Then there’s the 2020 Civic EX-L, which offers many of the same features as the EX trim. This includes heated front seats to keep you cozy on especially chilly mornings. However, passengers can now enjoy leather-trimmed seats that look elegant and are soft to the touch.
The engine/transmission combo is the same as the EX trim. Plus, both trims achieve an EPA-estimated 32 city/42 highway MPG—the highest in the lineup.1
Furthermore, the EX-L has a HomeLink® Remote System, so you can open your garage door from inside the car. You can even activate your home’s security system while pulling out of your driveway.
As you drive around, especially at night, you’re sure to appreciate the automatic-dimming rear mirror found in this trim. The bright lights of the cars behind you won’t be so blinding, so you can continue driving safely on the road.
Honda Civic Touring
Finally, there’s the Honda Civic Touring. This trim comes with every feature you could need for a comfortable and fun drive. It continues to offer HondaLink® and an SMS text message function that you’ll find in previous trim levels. However, it now has a Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System™. Your route will be shown clearly on the 7-inch display screen and Honda HD Digital Traffic™ will help you get from Point A to Point B in no time at all.
Whether you’re making a phone call or listening to your favorite podcast, you’ll hear them through the 10-speaker premium audio system. With 450 watts of power and a subwoofer, it’s like having a private conference or rock concert from right inside your vehicle.
